SAM collaborated with Yayasan
Pendidikan Astra -
Michael D.
Ruslim for one of their CSR programs
to redesign sixteen educational board
games,
one of which is Magerua, created by a local
teacher for elementary
students to learn
mathematics. Inspired by the folklore of East
Nusa
Tenggara (NTT), Indonesia, the game
uniquely combined storytelling and
traditional
games, creating a memorable learning
experience. We faced the
challenge of
modernizing visuals while preserving cultural
elements. The
result: engaging learning tools
that honor tradition.
